Threadneedle expands fixed income team with appointment of Jonathan Pitkänen as Head of Investment Grade Research
Appointment follows recent announcement of new Head of Fixed Income
Threadneedle today announces the appointment of Jonathan Pitkänen as Head of Investment Grade Research. Mr Pitkänen’s appointment follows the recent announcement that Jim Cielinski will become the new Head of Fixed Income from October and highlights Threadneedle’s commitment to the fixed income sector. Mr Pitkänen’s first day will be 15th September 2010. He will report directly to David Oliphant, Manager of the Threadneedle UK Corporate Bond Fund, and his responsibilities will include managing the credit analyst team and overseeing the investment grade credit process.
Mr Pitkänen joins Threadneedle with over 15 years experience of working in the City. Before joining Threadneedle he worked at Aviva Investors, where he was a credit analyst for four years. Prior to this he was a Senior Director and Analyst, for the European retail sector at Fitch Ratings Agency. In this role he was responsible for analysing major European retailers.
Threadneedle’s fixed income team comprises 38* investment professionals who manage both institutional and retail funds with £22.6bn* AUM across Government Bonds, Investment Grade, High Yield, Emerging Market Debt, Treasury and ABS.
